The WSU Pend Oreille County Extension Office is located in the Courthouse annex building at 418 S Scott Ave in Newport and is your community link to Washington State University. Extension programs are made available by the support of Washington State University, the US Dept. of Agriculture, Pend Oreille County, and several other research and community development grants.
Our office promotes a quality of life through education, the arts, and community services. We provide the opportunity to develop personal leadership skills, use research-based information to answer questions about your home and farm, and to aide community members in economic development. We provide these resources through clinics, consultation, and workshops on agriculture, forestry, horticulture, family living topics, and community development. We also support the Pend Oreille County Fair.
Other programs include Master Gardeners, 4-H, Food $ense, Firewise and Rain Gardens in conjunction with the Soil Conservation District, Annual Lavender Festival, Sense of Place, and Missoula Children's Theatre. Please visit our WSU website for more program information.
