Directions

The mission of Martin Hall Juvenile Detention Center is to provide a safe and secure environment for youth offenders while promoting accountability, competency development and community safety.

Visiting Hours: Saturday 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Sunday 3:00 PM- 4:30 PM

Tuesday 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Only parents/guardians are allowed to visit. Please bring picture identification. Please do not bring any food, clothing, money or personal items for your child.

Education: Education services are provided by School District 81. Youth are required to attend school while at Martin Hall.

Health: On the court day/report day your child may/will be sent to Martin Hall, please bring all prescribed medications in their prescription containers. A nurse is on staff and is in charge of distributing the meds. The nurse will also assess any medical or mental health issues. If your child has medical issues beyond the nurses’ expertise, a doctor is available at all times. In case of emergency, you will be notified.

Telephone and mail: Time permitting, youth are allowed to make one collect call per day. You may send letters to the above address. Your child is allowed to send two letters per week.

Conduct: Upon arrival, youth are given the daily schedule and the rules. Rules are very basic and include such things as, No Fighting, Appropriate Meal Behavior, Keep Your Room Clean/Room Inspection Requirements, etc. Martin Hall works on the level system – appropriate behavior leads to a higher level which leads to more privileges.

Programming: There are a number of optional programs and religious services available including such things as drug/alcohol education, victim awareness and job readiness.

Transportation: Under most circumstances or unless other arrangements have been made, your child will be transported to Martin Hall. It will be your responsibility to pick up your child or make arrangements to have him/her pricked up on the release day.

Admittance to Martin Hall: Martin Hall will only detain a youth based on a valid court order or a police probable cause statement.
