Patrol Division

Functions, Mission, and Responsibilities

The function of the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division is to deliver professional law enforcement services to our community. The Patrol Division is commanded by the Undersheriff and each patrol shift is supervised by a Patrol Sergeant. Personnel assigned to the patrol division are full-time sworn law enforcement officers, certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.

Services provided to the community include response to crimes in progress, criminal investigations, civil paper service, and other call for service, both emergency and non-emergency. Uniformed personnel are on duty seven days a week, 365 days a year to provide these services to our community.

Deputies patrol 1425 square miles to include providing law enforcement services to the towns of Cusick, Ione, and Metaline Falls all located within Pend Oreille County. The Sheriff’s Office has sub-stations in both Cusick and Ione.

A Deputy Sheriff is often the first contact that many have with the Sheriff’s Office. It is our goal to make all our contacts with the community we serve as professional, courteous, and objectively fair as possible. We recognize the importance to work in partnership with the community we serve in order to solve our problems.
